Dilara Findikoglu “Femme Vortex: A Subversive Revolution”
Dilara Findikoglu transported audiences to a parallel dimension during her Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection fashion show at London Fashion Week, aptly titled “Femme Vortex.” Inspired by Arundhati Roy’s vision of a world beyond toxic masculinity, Findikoglu created a mesmerizing universe that transcended political boundaries, gender norms, and patriarchal constructs.
The collection, consisting of 37 meticulously crafted looks, was a manifestation of divine feminine power beyond time and reality. Each ensemble was imbued with the spirit of a Findikoglu-conceived character, inviting the models to embody these personas with a sense of self-possession and empowerment. With the guidance of movement director Pat Boguslawski, the runway became a stage for a mass ritual to end toxic masculinity.
The opening look, “Female Territory,” set the tone for the show, as model Hari Nef commanded attention in a corporate suit transformed into a symbol of femino-heroic resistance. Throughout the presentation, Findikoglu challenged masculine tropes and societal norms, reinterpreting them through a subversive lens. From “Man License,” accessorized with a tabloid newspaper featuring sensational headlines, to “Cleopatra as a CEO,” adorned with keys symbolizing office-culture revolution, each look was a bold statement against the status quo.
Despite the provocative themes, there were hints of promising real-world developments in Findikoglu’s business, with see-now-buy-now scarves and crystal-webbed denim suggesting a tangible expansion of her universe beyond the runway. While the cost constraints led to the designer’s decision not to show last season, the transformative energy of the Dilaraverse showcased in this collection signifies a potential for growth and evolution. Welcome to the Dilaraverse!
