This is our first interview for the magazine and we are quite happy to have Dafne Ederveen with us. We knew we wanted her as the first one the moment we set eyes on her Instagram Account. She has created a very unique kind of visuals that relate to her upbringing in the dutch country side. She now lives and works in Amsterdam.

WN: So Dafne, How would you describe your art?

Dafne: A year ago, a colleague told me about Midjourney. I saw what people were able to do with this tool and that same night I created an account, and since that moment on I have been creating and generating new concepts and ideas. I come from a fashion and portrait photography background, I grew up in the countries in the Netherlands so a lot of my inspiration comes from growing up surrounded by nature. My art is quite feminine, pretty and graphic with loads of flowers, nature and flowing fabrics.

WN: Who are your biggest influences?

Dafne: I get inspiration from all over the place like watching films or walking through nature. I also watch a lot of Youtube Tutorials and the Ai Art Community on Instagram is also very inspiring. I love all kinds of music and watch a lot of fashion photography as well as visiting museums. So I wouldn’t say there is one major influence, its more like many different influences.

WN: What are your ultimate career goals as an artist?

Dafne: For now I justice it when people buy my AI-Artwork and put it on the wall or print it in a magazine, as a photographer working for magazines is what I mostly do. At the moment I am working on a big project, so maybe one of my goals to be to do an exhibition in a gallery of my work.

this is a quote from the interview that says 'When creating images with A.I. there is no mistakes, nothing is wrong, you can just start over if you dont like it'

WN: How has your style evolved since you  started with A.I.?

Dafne: In creating images I had to learn that nothing in A.I. is wrong unlike photography where if you make a mistake there is not image and the lighting make is it look ugly. When creating images with A.I. there are no mistakes, nothing is wrong, you can just start over if you don’t like it, and try again and again. I like to create images that when you first look at them it all seems possible but once you pay close attention you start to realise that is not. My dreamworld is widely seen in my A.I. work because is something that I cannot create with my photos or camera work.

WN: What are your main motivations to create images?

Dafne: I am an image creator, that’s what I do. I’ve been doing it all my life, it doesn’t really matter how I do it as long as I can be constantly creating something. Just give me a phone, a camera or a computer and I will be creating something. As long as I can be creating something I am happy.

WN: Where do you see fashion photography going in the future?

Dafne: I don’t know, this is a difficult question. Live events will still be taking place and people will still be taking photos of that, so a lot of things won’t be replaceable by A.I. as for fashion photography I am not sure. At this exact moment you can’t put a specific dress into an image generator 1:1, but I can imagine that it is something that is gonna be possible very soon andI believe that will be a big change, but I hope it can all coexist.
