Hermès Spring 2025 Ready - To - Wear:

Hermès designer Nadège Vanhee had a clear vision for her latest collection: “I wanted to express assertive sensuality,” she shared. “It’s about the feeling of summer, a feel-good summer, and the connection you have with your skin.” But instead of looking to the past for inspiration, she focused on elevating the sheer trend in a way that would resonate with Hermès’ luxury aesthetic, blending it seamlessly with the brand’s signature leather pieces.

Her take on sheer came in the form of mesh fabrics, cut into flowing pants with zippers along the sides. If you’re in the mood, you can unzip them, transforming the pants into something that resembles a maxi skirt. This balance of airy and sturdy was further explored in the way she paired the sheer pants with leather jackets so thin they resembled cotton. These jackets were cropped and styled open over bra tops or designed like anoraks, cinched at the waist. The relaxed, sporty shapes carried a casual elegance, making the collection feel both effortless and refined.

Vanhee’s emphasis on comfort extended beyond the designs themselves. In a season where many Paris designers disappointingly clung to size-0 casting, she stood out for featuring models of different body types, reinforcing her message of embracing and feeling good in your own skin.

Her pursuit of lightness, so essential to summer dressing, also manifested in her use of Hermès’ iconic silk twill scarves. Block- and screen-printed scarves were reimagined into breezy garments like shirtdresses with leather shoulders and playful rompers. The graphic patterns of the scarves carried over into woven leather dresses and embroidered mesh looks, with the collection largely favoring sun-kissed neutral tones, save for a few pops of fuchsia.

As always, Vanhee delivered on the footwear front, grounding these vacation-ready pieces with a mix of sleek riding boots and whimsical yet functional clog sandals, ensuring the collection was as practical as it was chic.
